Whistler XTR 690

The Whistler XTR 690 is a radar detector that is highly effective in getting you past any speed traps on the roads during your travels.

The Whistler XTR 690 features dual blue LED periscopes on the top of the unit that flashes when the detector picks up a threat and you're give real voice alerts so that you can keep your eyes on the road. You are offered full 360 degree perimeter detection with the 690 and this unit can detect POP mode radar.

The XTR 690 can detect when VG-2 detection is being used. If you live in a state where radar detectors are illegal, police use this VG-2 technology to see if drivers are using detectors. The 690 will warn you well ahead of time that this type of detection is in the vicinity.

The Whistler XTR 690 can detect X, K, Ka and SuperWide band Ka banks.

There is a battery voltage meter on this unit as well as a handy digital compass. You are also offered the signal strength of the radar so that you'll know how close the radar is to you so you will have plenty of time to adjust your speed accordingly.

The XTR 690 has a Filter Mode that will block out specific types of signals that are known to give off false alarms.

You are offered city and highway modes so that the number of false alarms are reduced. False alarms can come from a variety of sources in urban areas, even including other radar detectors. The highway mode does not filter out any band.

The XTR 690 is simple to install as you just attach the bracket to the unit and then press the suction cups on the windshield.
