Whistler XTR 185

The Whistler XTR 185 is a very unique radar detector. The XTR 185 is a rechargeable and cordless radar detector that is equipped with a solar panel that helps to re-charge the battery. With this solar feature, you'll get better battery life-up to 17 hours of use on one charge. In addition, this detector has a built-in charger that allows you to charge the batteries by simply plugging it into a 12 volt plug.

The Whistler XTR 185 supports three city modes to help eliminate false alerts and it can detect POP mode radar. The iconic display is bright and easy to read, and you're allowed to dim it or turn it off completely.

The Whistler XTR 185 responds to all of the different types of radar being used by law enforcement today, and provides 360 degree detection against all types of radar guns out there. It is immune to the VG-2 detector and will alert you when this type of detection is in the vicinity.

You are offered three city modes and a highway mode on this detector. The choice of city modes will help to eliminate false signals often given off in urban areas such as automatic garage door openers and other radar-controlled devices.

The Whistler XTR 185 can detect SWS or Safety Warning System bands. This is an alert band that is sent out by highway crews and emergency vehicles. You will be alerted of approaching ambulances or other emergency vehicles as well as road work vehicles in your driving vicinity.

A great feature on this detector is the Stay Alert feature. The detector will beep every 30 to 60 seconds. To show that you're alert, you must press a button within 5 seconds and if you don't, an alarm will sound.
