So, when the Beltronics Pro GX65 Radar Detector got delivered, we couldn't get it out of the box fast enough! After giving it a good overall inspection - we headed off to the test track, and put it to the ultimate test.

Band Detection
Beltronics never miss a beat, and that is very evident in the Beltronics Pro GX65 Radar Detector. With all the normal radar bands included in the pre-programmed list, the GX65 also provides support for the latest law enforcement band - Ku.
This new band is gaining popularity with the Police as the key to beating radar detectors - mainly because many of the older models do not support the band that the signal operates on. Hence, with this new model - you automatically have the upper hand again!
Display & Layout
There aren't too many changes in the Beltronics Pro GX65 Radar Detector versus previous Beltronics models. The red micro-led lighting is still the main feature of the screen, and the user buttons are still located on the top of the unit.
One noticeable change however is that this unit is significantly smaller and more compact than other models. This minimizes the amount of blockage of the front windscreen view, and is therefore less of a driving hazard.
Unique Technology
Beltronics have truly packed this machine full of incredible technology - which would be impossible to list here in its entirety. The most important new features you need to know about are the "full dark mode" display - which allows the machine to operate at night with absolutely no visible signals. This means the likelihood of being pulled over for having a "suspicious red light" in the middle of your windscreen is next to zero.
Additionally, the new "speed check" display will give you an accurate reading of your real vehicle speed for a few moments after an alert sounds - giving you an idea of how much you need to immediately slow down.
Performance & Range
Performance and range on the Beltronics Pro GX65 Radar Detector is on par with what you would expect from a top of the line unit at this price. Both straight line alerting and detection of signal leakage from around corners is exceptional and our guess would be that this would be one of the top 3 units in this field.

We couldn't possibly award the Beltronics Pro GX65 Radar Detector anything but 5 stars for its combination of performance, range, usability, and innovation. This is a tremendously clever device, with amazing on board technology - which makes driving a true pleasure.
